National Service Scheme

The main objectives of Cell:

i. Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities.
ii. Develop capacity to meet emergencies.
iii. Practice national integration and social harmony.
iv. Develop leadership qualities and democratic attitudes.
v. Gain skills in mobilizing community participation.
vi. Develop a sense of social and civic responsibility.

Motto

The Motto of NSS,NOT ME, BUT YOU reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service. NSS helps the students to appreciate the other person’s point of view and also to show consideration for other human beings. The philosophy of NSS is that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependant on the welfare of society as a whole and therefore, the NSS volunteers shall strive for the well being of the society.

Activities organized by NSS Cell:

• The cell organizes “Swachchhata Pakhwara” in the month of September. In this activities like cleaning of college campus, cleaning of old age home and bus station , Rally and door to door campaign in the adopted village (Mangolpuri) are organized .
• The Cell celebrates International Day of Yoga , NSS day , Rashtriya Ekta Diwas , Surgical Strike day and National Voter’s day.
• The Cell also organizes Electoral Verification Programme in association with District Election office, in which students, teaching staff and non- teaching staff can take part and apply for voter’s card.
• In addition to above activities the cell organizes essay writing, poster making , slogan writing competitions regularly.
